Removal and installation of the drive shaft
1. Remove the wheel trim cover, and then unscrew the drive shaft fixing nut (see Figure 10-6). This nut is tightened with a high torque, unless the entire weight of the car falls on the four wheels, do not try to loosen it.
2. Loosen the four nuts that secure the wheels.
3. Jack up the front of the car and firmly support it on the axle bracket. Remove the wheel.
4. If you want to remove the right drive shaft, it is necessary to remove the front exhaust pipe and the thermal protection plate under the inner universal joint.
5. Use a suitable multi-tooth internal hole screw wrench to loosen the fixing screw of the internal constant velocity universal joint, and remove the screw together with the expansion board. Separate the inner universal joint from the differential drive flange, and then bend the drive shaft to the front, parallel to the transmission.
6. If you want to remove the left drive shaft, turn the steering wheel to the left, if you want to remove the right drive shaft, turn to the right Hit the end.
7. Install a suitable disassembly tool on the front wheel hub, using the wheel's fixing screws when installing.
8. Use the disassembler to press the drive shaft out of the front wheel hub, and then pull out the drive shaft assembly from the bottom of the car.
Automatic transmission models
9. Carry out the operations described in section 1 to section 4.
10. On this side of the job, unscrew the two bolts that secure the anti-sway bar to the beam (see Figure 10-8).
11. Unscrew the nut and remove the fixing bolt that fixes the ball joint of the track control arm to the suspension damping column. Pry the track control arm down and remove the ball hinge from the damping column.
12. Use a suitable multi-tooth internal hole screw wrench to loosen the fixing screw of the internal constant velocity universal joint, and remove the screw together with the expansion board. Separate the inner universal joint from the differential drive flange.
13. Install a suitable disassembly tool on the front wheel hub, using the fixed bolts of the wheel when installing.
14. Move the bottom of the suspension damping column outward, and use a disassembly tool to press the drive shaft out of the front wheel hub. Pull out the drive shaft assembly from the bottom of the car.
