CNC programming is a very practical job, and the situation in each factory is not the same. As a CNC programmer, when you arrive at a new factory, you must clearly know your company’s working environment to do your job well. Specifically, you must do the following workshop technical surveys.
Machine tool status: including stroke size, repeat positioning accuracy, how big tools can be installed, maximum speed, economic speed, usual machining errors, whether the tool change system is often used, etc.
Tool statistics: The types of various tools used in our factory, the total length of each tool, the length of the blade, the length of the straight body, the tool material, the cutting reference parameters of special tools, etc., should be filled in a list of categories, and a tool library should be established in UG if necessary document.
Measuring tool statistics: understand which measuring tools are available, their accuracy, and how to use them.
Fixture statistics: understand which special or general-purpose fixtures are available, their accuracy, and how to use them.
If someone has done the above survey beforehand, it would be great, and you must study it carefully. If the factory does not have special information, you should make a form through investigation and update it from time to time according to the situation, so that the procedures you have compiled meet the actual requirements.
